Player Interviews
Periodically, players from the New England Intensity will be interviewed (our "4 Quarters"), discussing everything from what first drew them to women's football to how many states they've visited to what their last meal would be if they were a death row inmate :)!
Aimee Gauvin
4.28.11
Rookie lineman Aimee Gauvin, a resident of Suffield, Connecticut and a graduate student at Trinity College has turned heads from day 1 with her positive attitude and strong work ethic. Aimee's steady improvement, beginning with her 0ff- and pre-season efforts have placed her in the Defensive Line rotation :-)! She, her husband Steve, and son Eddie, are welcome new additions to the Intensity family!
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A. I didn’t even know that such a thing, as women’s football, existed! My trainer told me about it. I am truly a hands-on, physical type, and thought this might be fun. Little did I know how serious women take this sport, now, I am a diehard player!
Q. How did you hear about the Intensity?
A. I researched the IWFL online and contacted the Connecticut Crush, the Manchester Freedom and the Intensity. The Intensity administrative team was on the ball; they contacted me first (5 minutes after submitting my interest), and here I am!
Q. What have you enjoyed about it so far?
A. It’s really hard to pin down one thing. I like the conditioning, because I can feel myself getting stronger and stronger, I like the individual [periods of instruction] because I came in not understanding what a three point stance is to kicking ass on the defensive line. I have enjoyed how much I have grown as a person on and off the line! All of which would not have been possible without my team mates and personnel of NEI.
Q. What have you enjoyed the least about it?
A. Football is very demanding, the time at practice, the time away at games, traveling to and fro, the time studying plays all takes away time from my family. I don’t like leaving the family burden on my husband’s shoulders to bear alone; but in football for a couple months a year it is impossible not to. He understands and shoulders the burden proudly!
Q. In retrospect, how has it been similar and/or different compared to your expectations entering the season?
A. I expected to work hard, I expected to be physical, I expected to make lifelong friends and I expected to have a coach yell at me. What I didn’t expect was that I would work hard, be physical, make lifelong friends, or have a coach yell at me. Expecting it and actually getting it are two different things all of whichI have received and have grown from. I also, never expected that football is just as much an intellectual game as it is a physical game.
Q. If you could be Head Coach of the Intensity for a day, what would you do?
A. I would get a lanyard that could hold a clip board around my neck, so that when the head coach takes his rightful place, he could wear it during games preventing him from accidentally [dropping] the clip board to the ground (This could easily be my second least favorite thing)!
Q. What are your favorite activities outside of football?
A. My family enjoys hiking every Sunday, we climb the highest mountain and it is there where we find solace, peace, love and God. I have and enjoy traveling to far off places.
Q. What is your athletic background?
A. In high school I played soccer. I was good enough that scouts from Colby College invited me, my sophomore and junior summers for free, to play with their team during camps! I was a fierce fullback, loved it and absolutely died in my senior year when I went head on with someone and tore my knee up. Kids work on both academics and athletics while in school, don’t just concentrate on one!
Q. How many states in the United States have you ever been to?
A. I have been to every state in the continental U.S. My dad was a truck driver and he made sure I saw and learned about them all!
Q. If you were a death row inmate, what would be your last meal?
A. Anything cooked by my husband! He is a good cook, and a good catch; I mean if I am gonna be on death row, someone else might as well enjoy him!!
Q. In your opinion, what has been the all-time greatest accomplishment in sporting history?
A. Uhm, no doubt, title IX.
Q. What was the worst job you ever had? What did you dislike about it so much?
A. Chinese restaurant waitress! I could never understand what it was they wanted me to do, and when I was trying to ignite a pu pu platter, I caught some plastic flowers and some napkins on fire, and the whole place evacuated…I got fired?!
Q. If you could choose any Superhero’s powers to have for yourself, what would they be?
A. Simple. Healing powers; as I nurse a broken finger back to health!
Q. Of all you have accomplished, what are you most proud of?
A. My family! I have been with my husband since high school, 1989. We have the most adorable, loving, caring son, Eddie.
Q. Name two long-term goals you have.
A. Doctorate in Policy and Foster Children.
Kate Schoenen
4.22.11
Kate, a student, worker in the real estate industry, and Naval Reservist, is a rookie this season with the Intensity. Her extensive athletic background have her teammates and coaches excited at how she will develop as a tackle football player. She's already turned heads in practice with her ability to catch the ball (primarily from the TE position)! Hailing from Akron, Ohio, Kate is an avid music lover and is featured in this segment of 4 Quarters !
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A. I played a quick stint of semi-pro baseball a couple of years ago when unfortunately, the league lost its sponsorship and went under. During my time with the league, I had the opportunity to participate in a girls baseball clinic with Justine Siegal, a woman who has been working tirelessly to promote participation in the sport for girls and women. She mentioned to me how important it was for young girls to see women playing sports (or anything, for that matter) that have been traditionally closed to them. Those words have stayed with me and regardless of the demise of that league, I really wanted to continue to participate in something that was in keeping with that spirit in one form or another. And, well...I never could quite cut it as a cheerleader...
Q. How did you hear about the Intensity?
A. Ah, Google is a beautiful thing!
Q. What have you enjoyed about it so far?
A. Full-contact football is a way to blow off steam from a stressful week like nothing else...
Q. What have you enjoyed the least about it?
A. Since women’s tackle football is still in its infancy, we’re required to pay fees. Sucks.
Q. In retrospect, how has it been similar and/or different compared to your expectations entering the season?
A. In all honesty, being new to this game and the team, I don’t really have any expectations. I’m just grateful for having the opportunity to play and compete.
Q. If you could be Head Coach of the Intensity for a day, what would you do?
A. I’m still learning the ropes, so I think I’m a little out of my domain here :).
Q. What are your favorite activities outside of football?
A. Listening to music, writing, working out, reading, spending time with close friends, and livin’ a little of the la vida loca from time to time.
Q. Do you have any brothers and/or sisters? If so, how many and where are you in the birth order?
A. Two older brothers - so that makes me the baby of the family.
Q. Who is your favorite band/singer?
A. Elvis Presley or Otis Redding
Q. When you are really thirsty, what is your favorite drink?
A. Margarita on the rocks, please.
Q. What was the worst job you ever had? What did you dislike about it so much?
A. I once worked at a Walmart. I’m pretty sure it constituted slave labor.
Q. What is the fastest you have ever traveled in a car?
A. I drive a Jeep Wrangler - not exactly a speed demon. So my lead foot has been kept in check for the most part.
Q. If you could choose any Superhero’s powers to have for yourself, what would they be?
A. The power to heal.
Q. If you could meet three people (alive or deceased) who would they be?
A. Elvis Presley, Otis Redding, and Janis Joplin.
Q. If you could snap your fingers and start life over again, what would you be doing right now at this stage of your life?
A. Probably living the life of a struggling, starving musician.
Q. If you had to condense into one sentence all the good advice you could pass along, what would that sentence be?
A. Always strive to live your truth, even if it momentarily hurts or you’re up against a great deal of opposition at times - anything less just isn’t living.
Alex Montone
4.14.11
Alex, a video editor for numerous high-profile commercial advertising campaigns, joined the Intensity this past off-season. Her athleticism was quickly noted by the staff, along with her strong arm! An all-around talent with all things physical, she has taken well to task of running Coach Fernald's offense. Keep your eyes on her this season as she grows ever more comfortable in her role as field general for the Blue!
Q.
What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A. The thing
that first attracted me to woman's tackle football was the fact that it goes
beyond flag, pickup football. I’ve always played organized team sports
but like most places, there’s no outlet for girls to suit up and legitimately
get on a field. I love the sport and have been watching it my entire life
at all levels. It seemed really enticing to have the opportunity to try
it for myself.
Q. How did you
hear about the Intensity?
A. I heard
about NE Intensity through a friend.
Q. What have
you enjoyed about it so far?
A. So far it’s
been pretty crazy; being a rookie and getting thrown (no pun intended) right
into such an important role as quarterback. That being said, I’m really
enjoying the challenge.
Q. What have
you enjoyed the least about it?
A. $$$$$ - it
cost an arm and a leg to play, travel, gear, lodging etc. ...but so far it’s
been worth it.
Q. In
retrospect, how has it been similar and/or different compared to your expectations
entering the season?
A. Thinking
back to my expectations, I was right that it was going to be scary. Also,
I knew I’d be able to contribute one way or another but did not expect it to be
at qb. Regardless, I have no complaints, I’m happy with how everything
turned out.
Q. If you
could be Head Coach of the Intensity for a day, what would you do?
A. Hmm...I
really don’t know what more I’d do, we have a well-rounded coaching staff.
But I guess it’s unanimous that our team would like to do more hitting
drills.
Q. What are
your favorite activities outside of football?
A. Outside of
football, I love spending my time going to concerts, having craft time, going
shopping, smashing balls at the driving range...typical girl stuff.
Q. What is
your athletic background?
A. Growing up
I’ve always played basketball, soccer, & softball. I love
snowboarding, tennis and my new summertime passion, golf.
Q. What was
your most favorite class/course you have ever taken in school?
A. My favorite
class was my 10th grade media class. My best friends and I would run a
muck around school/town with a video camera, creating hilarious, complete
nonsense videos. It was the class where I first realized I had a knack
and possible future in video editing.
Q. If you were
a death row inmate, what would be your last meal?
A. Lola
Browncow’s Chicken Picatta with an ice cold glass of her famous “Sangwia”.
Q. In your
opinion, what has been the all-time greatest accomplishment in sporting
history?
A. I’m from Winthrop, Massachusetts,
home of Olympic captain and 1980 hockey gold medalist Mike Eruzione. I’d
get exiled if I didn’t use this moment! But really, Mike was the underdog of
underdogs in that game and scored a crucial goal in a crucial matchup. I
think about that goal and that game whenever I compete against “the better
team”. It inspires me that anything is possible regardless of the odds.
Q. Say you
were the sole winner of a 300 million dollar lottery, what would be the first
two things you would do?
A. BUY A CAR. Then use the money to live my life traveling and creating important, useful, helpful documentaries for people worldwide.
Q. If you
could choose any Superhero’s powers to have for yourself, what would they be?
A. Batman.
Coolest gadgets, money and swagger. Guy’s a baller...
Q. If you had
to condense into one sentence all the good advice you could pass along, what
would that sentence be?
A. Negativity will rent space in your mind if you let it but everything happens for a reason so just live, laugh, love and be you, anything is possible. Bam!
Q. Name two
long-term goals you have.
A. To relocate
somewhere warmer. To earn a living being my own boss and working from home.
Q. Describe
your ideal vacation.
A. My ideal
vaca is a warm sun, blue-green ocean, white sand, palm trees, pandora radio
& a tropical cocktail concoction...
Riss Nardelli
4.6.11
Versatile veteran Riss Nardelli, who played on New England from 2005-2007 (earning co-Rookie of the Year honors in 2005, and amassing enough sacks in her three seasons to still sit at 3rd all-time for the franchise lead), returns to the Intensity for the 2011 season! Her ability to play several positions (G, DL, LB, FB, K and P) and her athleticism will no doubt be put to good use on the field. Her 4 Quarters interview is below:
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A. I grew up on sports. I’ve played soccer, basketball, softball, and hockey. I love sports and when I returned to RI after graduating from the University of Richmond I met a few players and that was it!!! I was hooked and have been playing ever since.
Q. How did you hear about the Intensity and how long have you been playing with them?
A. I met some people on the team out and I have been playing football for 7 years though I took a hiatus from the Intensity and played a few years on the NY Nemesis. In the end though, I had to come home to my team. :-)
Q. What have you enjoyed most about playing with the Intensity?
A. I enjoy the family atmosphere. I know I can call on any of my teammates, or coaches for that matter, for anything. We socialize outside of football and I can truly call them my friends. This carries onto the field, we play as a unit. We are all there for each other. When one player falls or is having a tough time, the whole team is there to pick them up.
Q. What have you enjoyed least about it?
A. Not enough tackling :-).
Q. In retrospect, how has your experience playing with New England been similar and/or different compared to your expectations when first you started, and/or with other teams on which you’ve played?
A. Everyone on this team is reaching for the same goal…..a championship. We don’t let petty differences or conflicts get in the way of that goal. We all work together.

A. Lots of tackling drills!
Q. What are your favorite activities outside of football?
A. Soccer, Snowboarding, Softball, Drawing.

I was a varsity soccer, basketball, and softball player all 4 years at my high school. Then, I went to go play soccer in college but unfortunately got hurt. In 2002, I moved to Australia to go to school and play soccer at Macquarie University. After graduating college, I obviously play football but I also play soccer and softball.
Q. Aside from the Intensity, of course, what professional team to root for?
A. THE PATRIOTS!!!
Q. Do you have any brothers and/or sisters? If so, how many and where are you in the birth order?
A. I have one brother who is 9 years older than me.
Q. Say you were the sole winner of a $300M dollar lottery, what would be the first two things you would do?

installment of 4 Quarters.
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?

A. All I need is friends and alcohol and it’s ideal for me.

Lisa Close
3.23.11

Lisa
Close, perhaps the female version of the Dos Equis' "world's most
interesting man", is entering her 5th season with New England. One of
several UPSTATE natives in the organization, Lisa had a breakout season
in 2010 at Defensive End and won the 2010 Intensity Award.
An avid fan of working out, sports and warm weather, she is featured in this installment of 4 Quarters.
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A. What? This is tackle football!? I thought I was signing up for the lingerie league. I'm out. More to the point: I remember wanting to play as a kid and being told that "girls don't do that"….The seed was planted then. Be careful when telling children they can't do something…
Q. How did you hear about the New England Intensity and how long have you been playing with them?
A. Wait… This is the New England INTENSITY? I thought I was playing with the New England PATRIOTS. Good thing I didn't show up at Gillette. A. Quit. I know my strengths lie in other areas…
Q. What are your favorite activities outside of football?
A. Pina colodas and getting caught in the rain…
Q. How many states in the United States have you ever been to?

A. I am sandwiched between two amazing sisters (Lori and Kathleen).

Brenna Leveille
1.21.11

2010
Rookie of the Year Brenna Leveille, a true "Sport Lilly", is featured
in this installment of 4 Quarters. She came out of nowhere in 2010 to
lead the team in total receptions, receiving yards, and receptions for
first downs. She was 2nd on the team in touchdown receptions and in the
top 10 in total tackles. For all of her accomplishments, she was
nominated for and elected to the 2010 IWFL All-Star Game where she
played a majority of the game as a Tight End, acquitting herself quite
well with and against her fellow All Star teammates and opponents.
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A. It was actually after my first season of playing flag football. In our flag league there are 4 teams, one of which was the silver team, aka the “tackle team”. I liked their intensity and aggressive spirit, even though other teams complained that they were “too rough”; I enjoyed it. It made me think how awesome it would be to just take someone out rather than grab a flag.
Q. How did you hear about the Intensity?
A. At our flag football season end of the year banquet. After meeting [Majority Owner] Trish [Donovan] and [LB/DB Lisa] Vinny [Vincent] for the first time, it was mentioned in conversation. Trish asked me if I would be interested in playing and I was psyched to learn that there was an opportunity. She sent me an email that week and one line of her email always runs through my head… “It will be a huge commitment and very challenging experience, but it will be the most rewarding thing you have ever done.” It has been.
Q. What did you enjoy most about your 1st season?
A. Being apart of a team again and being coached. I love to learn and before tackle I only played one season of flag football. I knew very little about rules, positions, etc., it was very challenging mentally and physically and I loved every second of it. The Intensity is very well managed and highly organized; this made me be able to manage the hectic schedule of football along with my everyday life.
Q. What did you enjoy the least about it?
A. The driving! Practices were about an hour and fifteen minutes away from my house. At twice a week, my gas bill increased tremendously.
Q. In retrospect, how was your 1st season similar and/or different compared to your expectations entering the season?
A. I feel as though my upcoming season will be drastically different than my rookie year. By learning the rules and positions in my first season I can now concentrate on areas that I feel need improvement for myself. I feel comfortable with my hands and running routes. My main goal for the upcoming season is to be a better blocker on the line and start to get a feel for reading defenses. Now when I watch the NFL, every play I study the tight end. Also for the next season I would like to find a spot on defense I can start to concentrate on. Last season I played several positions on defense and was never able to get comfortable in one place. I am looking forward to working [Defensive Coordinator] Johnny [Johnson] and the other coaches to find a secure position on defense.
Q. If you could be Head Coach of the Intensity for a day, what would you do?
A. Hit more at practice! I know we don’t want to injure our own players but I look at football as a sort of therapy session for myself. If I could run the Intensity for the day, we would probably be hitting each other most of the time…and to the ground that is.
Q. What are your favorite activities outside of football?
A. I really enjoy all sports! Outside of football I also play basketball, volleyball, softball, flag football, and swimming. But besides sports I love to cook! Food is not only a large part of my profession but also a big passion of mine.
Q. What is your athletic background?
A. Everything and anything. I love sports! I grew up playing basketball and softball. When I moved back to Rhode Island from Indiana, I even taught myself how to play hockey. In high school I was one of two 4-sport athletes for 4 years. As a freshman, I made the Varsity team in 4 sports (Basketball, Volleyball, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track). My junior and senior years I made All-State in all 4 sports. I was voted "Most Athletic" in my class and finished my high school career with a state title in basketball, also scoring over 1,000 varsity points (one of my greatest and most difficult accomplishments in my life). Twice my volleyball team was runners-up in the state finals. And I finished out my shot-put career ranked 7th in the state. My first year at URI, I was a member of the crew team, and chose to play other sports at a recreation level.
Q. What was your most favorite class/course you have ever taken in school?
A. In college I took a course called Introduction to Children’s Literature. It was a phenomenal course that really outlined the importance of reading to your children and the positive affect it has on their early childhood development. It was beautifully taught by a very passionate professor who made learning fun and practical. And just for the record, Bowling for 1 credit was pretty sweet as well--if you were 21 at the time, the professor would let you drink at the alley.
Q. If you were a death row inmate, what would be your last meal?
A. And of course I have to choose the food question…My Irish Grandmother’s most-delicious-ever Corned Beef and Cabbage.
Kim Herrig
1.11.11

Three-time
Captain and two-time League All-Star Kim Herrig, hailing from UPSTATE
New York, has been a fixture on the Intensity Line since her first
season in 2007 (where she was the Rookie of the Year that year). She
was the Intensity Award winner in 2009 and was enshrined in the
franchise Hall of Fame after the 2010 season. Kim is the focus of this
installment of our 4 Quarters feature...
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A. I have loved football my whole life. The opportunity to put the pads on and play the game is something I thought I would never see in my lifetime.
Q. How did you hear about the Intensity and how long have you been playing with them?
A. I played flag football with Offensive Tackle Maia Goodall #77 for several years and I was at her house for a flag football meeting and she was trying to get me to play tackle football. I was a bit intimidated by the prospect and she literally took her shoulder pads, put them on me and then smashed her fists down on my shoulders…I was hooked!
Q. What have you enjoyed most about playing with the Intensity?
A. The camaraderie! When we are on the field we live and we die for each other; that is the way it has to be in football or your teammates can get hurt.
Q. What have you enjoyed least about it?
A. The time commitment is tough. I am exhausted from January to July, you have no weekends free and you must have an understanding and supportive partner at home. Luckily I do!!
Q. In retrospect, how has your experience playing with New England been similar and/or different compared to your expectations when first you started?
A. I have been a life long fan of football and watched it religiously and thought I knew a lot about the game. I had no idea how much I didn’t know and how much I would learn. I also didn’t think I could love the game more but I was wrong there too.
Q. If you could be Head Coach of the Intensity for a day, what would you do?
A. Wow! This is a tough one because I think it is easy to throw opinions out when you’re not standing in those shoes. I would contact MIT and see if there was a way to clone Steph Samuelson, hahaha!
Q. What are your favorite activities outside of football?
A. I love to cook and try new recipes and come up with my own food combinations. It is very calming for me and it is not hard to find taste testers when you play for a football team.
Q. What is your athletic background?
A. I played college basketball at Hamilton College and participate in Boston Women’s Flag Football League
Q. Do you have any brothers and/or sisters? If so, how many and where are you in the birth order?
A. Big Family! 4 Brothers and a Sister…I am #3, the order is: Billy, Dyana, Kim, Peter, Richard and Scott.
Q. What were your favorite TV shows growing up?
A. Cosby Show, Family Ties and Diff’rent Strokes. I know…I’m Old!!
Q. In your opinion, what has been the all-time greatest accomplishment in sporting history?
A. Title IX.
Q. Say you were the sole winner of a $300M dollar lottery, what would be the first two things you would do?
A. Pay off all of my debt and then send various lump sums to all of those who have been special to me in my life and have helped me get where I am today.
Q. Rank, from most scary to least scary, the following: snakes, heights, public speaking, and being on a plane in heavy turbulence?
A. Heavy turbulence, heights, snakes, public speaking.
Q. If you could meet three people (alive or deceased) who would they be?
A. Lawrence Taylor – despite his legal troubles now he was the player that made me love football. He changed how defense was played and how offensive lines schemed to defend him.
Elizabeth Cady Staton – Helped organize the Seneca Falls Woman's Rights Convention in Seneca Falls which eventually led to women’s right to vote in this country.
Barak Obama – Honestly he seems like such a laid back and intelligent guy I would love to sit back, have a beer and have an intelligent conversation with him about everything other than politics.
Q. Of all you have accomplished, what are you most proud of?
A. I consider myself a kind, honest and good person…there is no certificate, degree or award that can match that in my opinion.
Q. What is the most amazing thing you have ever witnessed in person?
A. Jennifer Edwards, #88, running 90 yards for a fumble recovery touchdown in Erie, PA. That is a once in a lifetime experience for a defensive linewoman and it really exemplified why we play this game, why we beat on our bodies like we do and why we practice so hard…to have that one opportunity to help lift your team to victory!
Lisa "Vinny" Vincent
12.29.10

DB/LB
Lisa "Vinny" Vincent, the 2008 Intensity Rookie of the Year, missed all
but 5 quarters of 2009 due to a catastrophic leg injury suffered during
the 2nd game. She had one heck of a bounce-back year in 2010, earning
the team Defensive MVP Award after setting a new franchise record for
tackle assists in a season and leading the team in tackles, special
teams tackles, and passes defended. She also led the team in average
yards per carry last season and was second in total rushing yards!
As
versatile off the field as on it, Vinny has been a cook, carpenter,
substance abuse clinician and worked in facility and grounds
maintenance. The only things she enjoys more than demolishing an
opposing teams' ball carrier are working out and warm weather! She is
featured in this installment of 4 Quarters:
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A. When I was four years old, my grandfather gave me a miniature sized rubber football. It was white with red stripes. From there, an obsession was born! I carried that little ball around for 2 years until the neighborhood boys decided I was “tough” enough to play with them. I joined the Rhode Island Women’s flag league in 1996, where I first heard rumor about tackle teams during a 2001 Key West tournament featuring the New York Sharks.
Q. How did you hear about the Intensity and how long have you been playing with them?
A. Intensity Owner/Delegate Tricia Donovan began playing on my flag team around 2004. She spent the ensuing three Intensity preseasons trying to rope me in. It finally worked in 2008.
Q. What have you enjoyed most about playing with the Intensity?
A. The team/family feel we have is awesome. I’ve also enjoyed challenging myself mentally and physically while learning more about the game.
Q. What have you enjoyed least about it?
A. Think I’ll have to go with breaking my leg...Nope, really was not a fan of that! The drive, especially to Brandon, is also pretty disagreeable.
Q. In retrospect, how has your experience playing with New England been similar and/or different compared to your expectations when first you started?
A. I wasn’t sure what to expect. At 32 years old, I really didn’t know if I was good enough to play or could contribute anything to the team. Considering the roles the coaches have placed me in, I know that may seem unbelievable to some, but its true.
Q. If you could be Head Coach of the Intensity for a day, what would you do?
A. Have a 3 hour full tackling practice, minus time for conditioning, of course!
Q. What are your favorite activities outside of football?
A. Anything done in 90 degree sunshine tops my list (especially if it includes a beach). I play tennis; enjoy athletic conditioning, weightlifting, reading, writing, drawing, cooking, and fostering personal growth.
Q. Aside from the Intensity, of course, what professional team to root for?
A. The Denver Broncos and New York Yankees! In tennis I root for Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams.
Q. Who is your favorite band/singer?
A. Overall, Beth Hart. However, I listen to just about every music genre.
Q. When you are really thirsty, what is your favorite drink?
A. Diet Mountain Dew. I kill the can in two sips.
Q. Say you were the sole winner of a $300M dollar lottery, what would be the first two things you would do?
A. Sit down and systematically pay off every debt I have then contact a financial advisor.
Q. What is the fastest you have ever traveled in a car?
A. I drove my supercharged Jeep Cherokee at 122 mph on 95 South in Connecticut.
Q. If you could choose any Superhero’s powers to have for yourself, what would they be?
A. Can I have a Batman Suit? That would be sweet!
Q. Who have been the most influential people in your life been?
A. Ken B. (mentor) - Who continually challenges to me live fearlessly with dignity, honor, and integrity, as well as to become a woman of strong faith. Christopher Horta- With whom I’ve grown to be more than I thought myself capable regarding communication, intimacy, grief, self-worth, love, heartache, honesty, loss and forgiveness; both within the context of marriage and its dissolution. Rosemary Wardle (English Teacher) – Who saw through my facade and delinquency to the kid who was in trouble, then provided encouragement to write, act, and engage in self-expression.
Q. Of all you have accomplished, what are you most proud of?
A. Hands down, I am most proud of making the decision to live a life free from alcohol/addiction 18 years ago. Every single, solitary other accomplishment in my life has rested on that change.
Q. If you had to spend one year homeless or one year blind but not homeless, which would you choose?
A. I would choose to be homeless. I’m a visually oriented person. I cannot imagine going a year without seeing the sunrise, a beach, or a smiling little kid… Not to mention the havoc being blind would reek in the weight room!
Charlene Casey
12.20.10

LB/FB Charlene Casey, one of the few players that was on the first New England Intensity squad in 2003 (then, the Rhode Island Riptide), is the all-time leader in career sacks for the franchise and is 2nd all-time in total tackles and solo tackles. She triumphantly returned to the Blue after a two year hiatus, filling a large void at MLB--key to the team's 8-0 run, and being elected to the IWFL All Star Team!
Outside of football Charlene is an Athletic Trainer for Southeast Hospitals Group and has a 2nd job working as Librarian at Stonehill College. She enjoys animals, video games, working on her car and on computers.
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A. I always wanted to play football. When I was a kid my parents wouldn’t let me play pop warner (not too many girls did back then). I don’t like to be told that I can’t do something. So when I heard about a team playing in Boston, I was in!!!!!! Honestly, I have never looked back!!!!
Q. How did you hear about the Intensity and how long have you been playing with them?
A. I was on the original 2003 Rhode Island Riptide that became the Rhode Island Intensity, then later on became the New England Intensity. Give or take a few years due to some conflicts, I have been around from the beginning, and will be here until the end.
Q. What have you enjoyed most about playing with the Intensity?
A. I would have to say all the teams I have played for, the Intensity feels most like a football family. The egos are low and everyone plays as a team. That is rare a rare quality in Women’s Football.
Q. What have you enjoyed least about it?
A. Having left for a couple of seasons. Probably the biggest sacrifice I made for the team and biggest mistake personally. Glad its over!!!!
Q. In retrospect, how has your experience playing with New England been similar and/or different compared to your expectations when first you started?
A. I expected to hit and be hit! I wanted to have some fun and hopefully win some games. I think my experience with New England has exceeded that! I still have one goal that I have yet to meet in my football career. I have yet to have a defensive touchdown. Perhaps this season I will reach that goal!!!
Q. If you could be Head Coach of the Intensity for a day, what would you do?
A. I wish!!!! I would work on BASICS!!!!! I believe you cannot play the game of football without good execution of basics. I think a lot of coaches forget that women have not played this game since we were little. The basics are not ingrained in us as much as the men. We pick it up quicker now, but they still need to be worked on. You cannot expect to run if you cannot walk!!!
Q. What are your favorite activities outside of football?
A. LOL…is there anything else other than football!!!!!
Q. Aside from the Intensity, of course, what professional team to root for?
A. New England Patriots!!!!!!!! Who else?!?!?!?
Q. What were your favorite TV shows growing up?
A. Superfriends, Smurfs, Fantasy Island, Banana Splits and He-man….hahahaha!!!!
Q. What was your most favorite class/course you have ever taken in school?
A. Anatomy and Physiology I at Northeastern University!!!! It was very intense and I loved it!!!!
Q. If you were a death row inmate, what would be your last meal?
A. I would have to say my favorite meal is boiled dinner with ham or corned beef. I figured if I am going out, I might as well take a few people with me after eating all that cabbage!!!!!!
Q. Rank, from most scary to least scary, the following: snakes, heights, public speaking, and being on a plane in heavy turbulence?
A. Being on a plane in turbulence (I hate to fly), public speaking, heights and snakes.
Q. If you were an astronaut, would you rather land on the moon or Mars?
A. Mars because no one has done that yet. We have been to the Moon. It would be much more cool to be somewhere another human has not been!!!!
Q. If you could choose any Superhero’s powers to have for yourself, what would they be?
A. I think I would like to have the ability to see into the future. That could be used in a lot of ways!!!! Both good and evil!!!!
Q. If you could meet three people (alive or deceased) who would they be?
A. Pink, Madonna and Lady Gaga….I know its sad!!!!
Q. If you could snap your fingers and start life over again, what would you be doing right now at this stage of your life?
A. I would be a rock star!!!
Q. If you had to condense into one sentence all the good advice you could pass along, what would that sentence be?
A. Be true to yourself, everything else will fall into place.
Jennifer "Coco" Edwards

2010 Hall of Fame Inductee, and perhaps the most feared lineman to ever wear an Intensity uniform, Jennifer "Coco" Edwards joined the team in 2006, has been twice named to the League All-Star Team. She was the 2007 Intensity Award Winner, the Lineman of the Year in both 2008 and 2009, and has been a Team Captain for the last three seasons. As of the end of the 2010 season, she is 3rd Tackle Assists and Fumble Recoveries, and 4th and Total Tackles and Sacks. Coco is featured in this installment of 4 Quarters.
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A. Honestly, seeing the NY Sharks pounce over the NH Freedom in Queens, NY. I had no idea women were playing football and it was really exciting to see. I knew that day I would play football.
Q. How did you hear about the Intensity and how long have you been playing with them?
A. My flag football teammate Maia Goodall told me about a practice one day five years ago. I showed up for the next practice. J

A. The camaraderie, the workouts, the professionalism of the ownership, and winning. I also enjoyed learning about football.
Q. What have you enjoyed least about it?
A. Having a great season then losing in the first round of playoffs.
Q. In retrospect, how has your experience playing with the New England Intensity been similar and/or different compared to your expectations when first you started?
A. No pun intended but each year got more intense. I didn’t think football would become such a huge part of my life year after year. I thought I’d just play a year because I committed to doing it but 5 years???? Nahh who would have thunk it?
Q. If you could be Head Coach of the Intensity for a day, what would you do?
A. Talk to each and every one of my players to get to know them and learn how to best communicate with them. This is a very important aspect to a teams’ success in my opinion.

Maia Goodall
11.23.10

Longtime OT/DT standout and Team Captain Maia Goodall, a Physician’s Assistant for an Orthopedic Surgeon, is the latest Intensity player featured in our 4 Quarters.
The 2-time All-Star and 2008 Intensity Award Winner is an avid culinary wizard and sports fanatic. If you ever get to request she cook a particular meal, her Cheez-It-topped Mac and Chesee is to die for (there are no bad choices if she’s cooking)!
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A. I have wanted to play this sport since I was little. We have a picture of me with pads on age 5, never got to play. Something about the combat attracts me now, the mix of going up against someone not just physically but intellectually as well.
Q. How did you hear about the Intensity and how long have you been playing with them?
A. I got recruited to play with the New England Storm by a good friend of mine, and there I met Coach Correia, who stalked me years later and asked me to play with the Intensity! Never looked back…
Q. What have you enjoyed most about playing with the Intensity?
A. Learning to love this sport even more than I thought I could. I have learned so much about the game, about people in general and about me, it’s been a total trip! I have loved all my teachers; my coaches & my teammates, even when the lessons learned were not so nice…
Q. What have you enjoyed least about it?
A. When the preseason practices start in February, I tell my partner that football is starting and I love her and I will be more present in July. It takes a lot more effort to maintain and grow my relationship during the season than in the off season, but she appreciates and respects how much I love it. I know that I couldn’t do this without her love and support. So I work even harder on our relationship during the season.
Q. In retrospect, how has your experience playing with New England been similar and/or different compared to your expectations when first you started?
A. I can’t even remember what my expectations were. I think I was surprised with how much this is a thinking game. I knew I would like the hitting and the physicality, but I underappreciated how much you “gots to use yer brain” in this sport!
Q. If you could be Head Coach of the Intensity for a day, what would you do?
A. Tackle Practice. Tackle Practice. Tackle Practice. And I might make the running and catching players play the line for a while so they can really appreciate how much work it takes to make them look good.
Q. What are your favorite activities outside of football?
A. I love being an auntie to my many nieces and nephews! It is a full time job though, between my partner and I we have 20 in 5 states!!
Q. What is your athletic background?
A. In order, starting age 6ish: soccer, basketball, softball, volleyball, track and field (shotput/discus/javelin), crew, rugby, flag football, and tackle football.
Q. Do you have any brothers and/or sisters? If so, how many and where are you in the birth order?
A. I have one brother, Duncan who is a year and a half younger than me. Every time I think about it, it surprises me that he annoyed me so much when we were kids but I love him and his amazing wife Melissa and daughters Lorelei and Leala like crazy now! He is so supportive of his big sister who plays football and gets his girls to as many games as he can cause its important for them to know that girls DO play football!!!
Q. Who is your favorite actor and actress?
A. Elizabeth Banks. She is so drop dead beautiful, but also appears so grounded, intelligent and funny! Or if she isn’t in real life, she is an amazing actress to make me think that she is!!
Q. In your opinion, what has been the all-time greatest accomplishment in sporting history?
A. Title IX. Thank God I barely remember a time when girls and boys sports were NOT equal. It makes me mad sometimes for people to forget that equality is not an eventuality or a right. It took a lot of work to get it.
Q. If you had to choose between a headache and a stomach ache, which would you prefer to be afflicted with?
A. Stomach ache. I can’t stand headaches. I hate not being able to think clearly.
Q. What was the worst job you ever had? What did you dislike about it so much?
A. I worked in a Blockbuster for about 3 months a “wikkid” long time ago. I thought I would be able to get movies cheaper and I love movies. But no . . . I had to pay for all of them, and the drawer couldn’t be more than 4cents above or below the expected till. No trust in their employees.
Q. If you could meet three people (alive or deceased) who would they be?
A. My Godmother Fiona who passed away when I was 9, Mildred “Babe” Didrickson, and Logan Mankins of the Patriots.
Q. What is the most dangerous or daring thing you have ever done?
A. Some would say that it would be playing football at age 40…I could go with that!
Q. Of all you have accomplished, what are you most proud of?
A. My relationship with my partner, Amanda. It’s been 12 of the most amazing years. Anyone who tells you that being in a relationship is easy is lying to you. It’s so much work, and so very worth it.
Nancy O'Loughlin
11.2.10

Nancy, a decorated MBTA Police Lieutenant and Grandmother, has steadily improved over the 4 years (and counting) she has been on the Intensity. Her unmatched work ethic, passion, and team-first attitude are admired by everyone. In between doling out some "Stick Time" to perps, she sat down with our roving reporter to give us the latest "4 Quarters".
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A. I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could do it.
Q. How did you hear about the Intensity and how long have you been playing with them?
A. I learned about the team surfing the ‘net. I’ve been playing for four seasons now, going on 5.
Q. What have you enjoyed most about playing with the Intensity?
A. The physical challenge as well as the sense of belonging to a family of likeminded individuals.
Q. What have you enjoyed least about it?
A. Although there is very little [I dislike about it], I am sometimes disappointed by the lack of commitment by some individuals.
Q. In retrospect, how has your experience playing with New England been similar and/or different compared to your expectations when first you started?
A. The experience has far exceeded my expectations! Not only did I find the challenge I was looking for, I found a second family and a burning passion for football.
Q. If you could be Head Coach of the Intensity for a day, what would you do?
A. Have a big party!!
Q. What are your favorite activities outside of football?
A. Ice Hockey is my number one sport and passion. I have been playing for over 37 years! The remainder of my time I like to engage in anything that presents a challenge—this includes my kids and grandkids!!
Q. Do you have any brothers and/or sisters? If so, how many and where are you in the birth order?
A. I have six brothers. Three older and two younger. I grew up learning to duck and weave and loving a good fight! I was blessed with a father that did not think it unusual for his daughter to play/fight with the boys. If I wanted to play something he always gave me his support. He made me believe in myself and never question whether I was “big enough”. According to him, “Heart beats all!”.
Q. Who is your favorite actor and actress?
A. I think Clint Eastwood is the bomb! “Make my day!!!”.
Q. When you are really thirsty, what is your favorite drink?
A. My favorite drink is a tall glass of ice cold chocolate milk! Nothing is better after a hard game/practice.
Stacey Martin
10.15.10

Stacey, one of the longest-tenured players on the Intensity (having joined the squad back in 2004) has been a rock-steady LB for most of her career--she is in the top 10 (or better) in just about every conceivable defensive statistical category.
A mother of three children and an AVID Philadelphia sports fan (though she claims to never have been locked up in the Eagles' stadium jail), Stacey took some time from work (and from playing taxi to and from her kids activities--many of which she coaches) to provide us with this installment of 4 Quarters.
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A. My first encounter with Women’s Tackle Football was when I lived outside of Philadelphia in 2000. My family and I went to the Thanksgiving Parade in Philly and saw the Philadelphia Liberty Belles marching in the parade. I thought it was pretty cool. But I can’t say I really considered playing at that point (despite playing sports all my life), but I truly admired the women who did.
Q. How did you hear about the Intensity and how long have you been playing with them?
A. Funny story-- I was living in Jamestown, RI and watching another parade in 2004 (St Patrick’s Day in Newport) and the Rhode Island Intensity was marching. One of the ladies, in her shoulder pads and football pants, handed me a schedule and I tucked it away in my back pocket. I had just started working out again after having my third child and my goal was to get back into sports that year. I thought I’d revisit the possibility of the Intensity later, although I had never played organized football before. In August 2004, while watching an Eagles pre-season game and rekindling my love for football, I found the RI Intensity schedule, checked out their website and sent an email indicating I was interested in trying out. I didn’t think I’d get a response, but the next day I received an email stating the try-out was October 4th. I trained hard up until that date then wondered what the heck I was doing! But I showed up and gave it my best. In July 2010, I completed my 6th season with The Intensity, and cannot imagine how my life would be had I not taken the leap way back in 2004.
Q. What have you enjoyed most about playing with the Intensity?
A. My favorite aspect of the Intensity is the camaraderie and the sense of family I get whenever I am with my team. I also enjoy our winning ways, and hope it continues!
Q. What have you enjoyed least about it?
A. I have to say, the 1 ½ hour commute to our beloved indoor practice facility [The Brandon Center Gym in Natick, Massachusetts], is my least favorite. In the winter, no less…
Q. In retrospect, how has your experience playing with New England been similar and/or different compared to your expectations when first you started?
A. I honestly was not sure what to expect when I tried out for The Intensity, but I can guarantee that I had no idea I was in for such an awesome ride!! We have come quite a long way since my rookie season, too, so I continue to look forward to the seasons to come.
Q. If you could be Head Coach of the Intensity for a day, what would you do?
A. I would move the practice facility to Rhode Island ;-)!
Q. What are your favorite activities outside of football?
A. I enjoy coaching youth soccer and attending my kids’ sporting events and other activities. I also enjoy photography, hiking/climbing mountains, mountain & road biking, weight training, skiing, swimming, doing community service, socializing, taking road trips, camping, cooking…
Q. How many states in the United States have you ever been to?
A. 23: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida, Utah, and California. Plus Washington, DC. Oh, and I had a layover in Chicago IL twice. Does that count?
Q. Aside from the Intensity, of course, what professional team to root for?
A. I root for ALL of the Philadelphia teams—Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, Sixers, Wings, Union. And always will, regardless of where I dwell. I’m a Philly sports diehard. And no, I’ve never been tasered.
Q. If you were a death row inmate, what would be your last meal?
A. The food wouldn’t matter as much as the number of courses…I’ll choose the 12 course meal, please! With extra dessert!
Q. Say you were the sole winner of a 300 million dollar lottery, what would be the first two things you would do?
A. First thing---double-check my numbers. Second thing—check my numbers again (this kind of stuff doesn’t happen to me). If they happened to match, then I would pay off any and all debt and buy some land and build a house.
Q. What was the worst job you ever had? What did you dislike about it so much?
A. The worst job I ever had was working as a telemarketer--I did it in high school and in college. I was consistently below my goals because I didn’t push people and would always take no for an answer. The worst was when people yelled and hung up on me. I hated that!
Q. What is the fastest you have ever traveled in a car?
A. My first car was a 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula with an 8 cylinder 305 and it could MOVE! I had it up to 132mph on a back country road in NJ on my way to work one morning. What a SWEET RIDE!
Q. Who have been the most influential people in your life been?
A. My 3 children, hands down. As much of a challenge as parenthood can be, my kids have taught me patience, responsibility, selflessness and unconditional love beyond what I thought was humanly possible. They also help me see the world as brand new again. And believe it or not, they are the ones pushing me to keep returning to football year after year!
Q. What is your remedy for a really bad day?
A. Depending on my mood and the situation, loud music and heavy lifting or intense running/biking helps me vent. A calmer hike in the woods/up a mountain or lying on a beach soaking up the sun works wonders too.
Q. If you had to condense into one sentence all the good advice you could pass along, what would that sentence be?
A. Live life to its fullest everyday because we only get one go ‘round on this ride and we have no idea when it will end.
Erica Adams
9.30.10

Erica, a rookie in 2010, made an immediate impact, earning a starting Linebacker Position. She led all rookies in total tackles, tackle assists, interceptions and passes defended.
Erica, a lifelong athlete and oldest of she and her 7 other siblings, is also a Human Resources Recruiter for Sercuritas Security Services and the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach for Pine Manor College. She looks forward eagerly to the 2011 season!
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A. I just love football; playing and/or watching. Plus hitting people is pretty sweet!
Q. How did you hear about the Intensity?
A. I google’d women’s tackle football and then found the team closest to me--the Intensity.
Q. What did you enjoy most about your 1st season?
A. I enjoyed the challenge, physically and mentally. I also enjoyed winning—we went undefeated in the regular season!! I have never been on a team as successful as the Intensity and it was awesome!
Q. What did you enjoy the least about it?
A. It was too short. Once you get into the first week, if you blink it’s already the end!
Q. In retrospect, how was your 1st season similar and/or different compared to your expectations entering the season?
A. It was right where my expectations were. It was fun, great teammates and coaches/staff, challenging, and I learned a lot.
Q. If you could be Head Coach of the Intensity for a day, what would you do?
A. Have the team split up into small groups (after conditioning of course) and rotate through numerous different stations; with each station utilizing a different skill or team building or strategizing or conditioning. This keeps all the players busy and moving for the duration of the circuit. Then probably split into team defense and team offense, and then bring all the skills you have utilized through out practice into a 7 v 7 and/or a full scrimmage.
Q. What are your favorite activities outside of football?

Rebecca Lopez
8.23.10

Rebecca played her first season with the Intensity in 2010 (she played for the now-defunct Holyoke Hurricanes in 2009--actually playing against New England twice that season). Her poise, leadership, dedication and potential talent were quickly noticed by the Intensity staff and she was groomed to be the offensive field general from the start of the off-season training sessions. Through her hard work and constant and consistent effort, she developed into quite a QB, leading the New England Offense to break several all-time records in 2010 (including total passing yards, total yards gained, total points scored, and, of course, an 8-0 record!).
Having recently earned her doctoral degree in Kinesiology from the University of Connecticut, Rebecca is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine--College of Medicine at the University of South Florida. She also currently serves on the Medical & Science Advisory Board for the Korey Stringer Institute, whose mission is to provide information, resources, assistance and advocacy for the prevention of sudden death in sport, especially as it relates to exertional heat stroke. Even with her remarkably busy schedule, Rebecca took the time to do the following interview:
Q. What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?

Q. In retrospect, how was your first season similar and/or different compared to your expectations entering the season?
A. We had so much dedication and eagerness to play, to show up to practice, and to win every game. The owners were also great in that they organized everything in a way that we pretty much just had to worry about doing our football thing when we showed up.
Q. If you could be Head Coach of the Intensity for a day, what would you do?
A. Make sure a Pat Benatar song is included in the pregame CD.
Q. What are your favorite activities outside of football?
A. Soccer, snowboarding, volleyball…playing any sport…
Q. What is your athletic background?
A. I was on my first athletic team (softball) at age 6. After that, there was no turning back. I’ve now played basketball, softball, soccer, women’s baseball, volleyball, tennis…and I also enjoy rollerblading, hiking, cycling, surfing, and snowboarding. And now, tackle football.
Q. How many states in the United States have you ever been to?
A. Approximately 26
Q. When you are really thirsty, what is your favorite drink?

A. Ani Difranco… cause some of her lyrics make me think that she’s in my head…
Q. If you were tasked with putting one item in a time capsule that would not be opened for another 1,000 years, what would it be?
A. I think I would put a Garbage Pail Kids card, just to confuse everyone…and a McDonald’s french fry to see if it stays preserved.

A. From most to least scary: Being on a plane in heavy turbulence, snakes, heights, public speaking.
Q. If you could choose any Superhero’s powers to have for yourself, what would they be:

Q. If you could snap your fingers and start life over again, what would you be doing right now at this stage of your life?
A. Exactly what I’m doing right now (but maybe with a little less knee pain, a six pack of abs, and a lil’ more money).
Q. Of all you have accomplished, what are you most proud of?
A. Being a decent human being, finding love and keeping it, and my scholarly accomplishments (in that order).
Q. If you had to condense into one sentence all the good advice you could pass along, what would that sentence be?
A. In terms of your goals: Feel the fear and do it anyway. In terms of life: Be a good person (Sorry, couldn’t do it in one sentence).
Eden Coelho
8.1.10

Eden, a rookie in 2010, played offensive and defensive line. Her athleticism, great attitude, and hard work earned her time on both sides of the ball, where she acquitted herself quite well, especially for a first-year player. A UC Berkeley graduate and a Captain in the United States Army, Eden is currently in Iraq for a 12-month tour of duty (which will, unfortunately, cause her to miss the 2011 season). She is serving as the Executive Officer of a Forward Surgical Team based in Devens, Massachusetts. Her email address is laxeden@hotmail.com if you would like to correspond with her. Shortly after arriving "in-country", she took the time to do the following interview:
Q: What first attracted you to Women’s Tackle Football?
A: I was first attracted to women’s tackle football after playing a season of flag football with “Real Deal.” I was excited to take on an entirely different sport and all of the challenges it encompasses.
Q: How did you hear about the Intensity?
A: I heard about Intensity through another rookie (Lizwe) that was already taking part in the preseason workouts. [Fellow rookie] Lizwe [Nondabula] mentioned how challenging the workouts were to include memorizing the ever-evolving playbook.
Q: What did you enjoy most about your rookie season?
A: Winning…;0 In all seriousness the team would not have been half as successful if we did not have a solid core of veterans. Their leadership and ability to “teach” was clearly a strong factor in our success and team building abilities.
Q: What did you enjoy the least about it?
A: What doesn’t kill you, will only make you stronger…bring on “Fred the Sled.”
Q: In retrospect, how was your first season similar and/or different compared to your expectations entering the season?
A: My expectations entering the season were met each and every practice. Not only was I physically challenged, I was also mentally challenged by my coaches and teammates.
Q: If you could be Head Coach of the Intensity for a day, what would you do?
A: If I was head coach of New England Intensity for a day, I would have them participate in an alternate team building activity, such as an obstacle course. Nothing builds trust in a team faster than being able to effectively maneuver through an obstacle course.
Q: What are your favorite activities outside of football?
A: My favorite activities outside of football include; lacrosse, softball, reading and cooking.
Q: How many states in the United States have you ever been to?
A: I have only been to fourteen different states; the majority of my traveling has been overseas. Out of the fourteen states my favorite state to visit is California.
Q: When you are really thirsty, what is your favorite drink?
A: Ice cold water.
Q: If you were a death row inmate, what would be your last meal?
A: My last meal as a death row inmate would have to be a garlic stuffed schnitzel from the Eppelheim Schnitzel House.
Q: Say you were the sole winner of a 300 million dollar lottery, what would be the first two things you would do?
A: If I was lucky enough to win 300 million dollars, the first thing I would do is divide it up between my sister, mum and I. After that I would make them take me to lunch at Chipotle. ;)
Q: Rank, from most scary to least scary, the following: snakes, heights, public speaking, and being on a plane in heavy turbulence.
A: With one being the scariest I would have to say BUGS, but there not on the list so let’s go with snakes, heights, public speaking and then heavy plane turbulence.
Q: What is the fastest you have ever traveled in a car?
A: The fastest I have ever driven in a vehicle was 125mphs on the autobahn…while drinking soda, talking on the phone and rocking out to Phil Collins….they love the 80’s there!
Q: Who have been the most influential people in your life been?
A: The most influential people in my life have been my mum, my family, my teachers, coaches, superior officers and subordinates.
Q: If you had to condense into one sentence all the good advice you could pass along, what would that sentence be?
A: I would have to say the best advice/quote I have ever heard and adhered to is “Be the change you want to see in the world,” by Ghandi.
Q: Describe your ideal vacation.
A: I would love to
visit Cape Town, South Africa again. The food is
divine, the mojitos are delicious and the people are great. I would book a two week vacation at the
Bantry Bay Hotel, climb Table
Mountain again and of
course eat the local cuisine! Too bad
the World Cup is over.
